Suitable for clients with some dressmaking experience
An intensive course in period corsetry, using authentic fabrics and techniques. Various courses are offered from basic to more elaborate ‘burlesque’ styles.

Patern Cutting

Learn two types of pattern cutting
1. Draft a paper pattern
2. Drape cutting on the stand

Costume Making

Bring along a costume/garment to make up and fit or complete during the day or as a follow up from the pattern cutting course.

Costume Design

Learn how to research a play, and create a mood board incorporating colours and textures and character analysis.

Decoration

Learn different types of period decoration techniques including ribbon work, French quilting, smocking etc.

Basic Make-up Techniques

Learn basic stage techniques, ageing and period styles.
Minimum of 4 people for this day course.

Breaking Down and ageing costume

Learn the techniques and methods used to add character to costume
